How would you feel if you walked into a Wendy’s restaurant and saw one of the employees taking a bath? A Wendy’s in Greenville, Michigan is under investigation after a video surfaces of one of their employees taking a bath in the kitchen’s sink. In the video, one of the employees can be seen giving the guy in the sink a towel to help him clean himself. The guy in the sink can be seen smiling and saying “It feels like a hot tub”.
It is clear that any regulations for keeping food prep surfaces clean has been violated. This unsanitary act was done for the sole purpose of achieving viral fame. Christian Camp, president of Wendy’s human resources team, says “This egregious behavior is completely unacceptable and counter to our safety, training and operational standards”(Today.com) . Eventually, all employees in the video were terminated. I think this story serves as an important lesson for those of us who frequently eat fast food. Be careful and pay attention to everything that is taking place behind the counter as you wait in line to order your food.
